Consultative Committees

THE EFFORTS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ARE SUPPORTED BY TWO CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEES

Users’ Committee

  • The mandate of the Users’ Committee is to ensure harmony between the different uses of the Community Forest and to take part in integrated planning for its development, more specifically as regards recreational-tourism activities and hunting.
  • Its members include representatives of snowmobile clubs, Circuits Frontières, the Club de chasse et pêche Hereford, Estrie à Cheval, and the municipalities responsible for local hiking paths.

Forestry and Conservation Committee

  • The mandate of the Forestry and Conservation Committee is to address all scientific and technical matters pertaining to forest management, restoration and conservation, as well as to make recommendations to the Board of Directors. Its members also contribute to integrated development planning for the Community Forest.
  • The committee is made up of representatives of the Association forestière du Sud du Québec, the Agence de mise en valeur de la forêt privée de l’Estrie, the MRC of Coaticook, the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and other forest management experts.
